living with his parents in Macon County, Alabama. In 1870, he was listed on the census in Notasulga, Macon County, Alabama as an apprentice to a printer named
John Hutchins who was from Scotland. By 1880, Charlton was living in Memphis, Shelby County, TN with his wife, Florida A Clark Fallaw. He appears on City Directories in Memphis until 1918 and then shows up on the 1920 U S Census in Norwood, Hamilton County, Ohio working as a merchant. He returned to Memphis and, on June 1, 1928, at the age of 73 he fell and broke his leg. He died as a
result of complications from that fall on Aug. 29, 1928.
For some reason, neither his headstone nor that of his wife, Florida, has had the date of death inscribed on the headstone. Information provided by Sondra Krastins - Memphis, Tennessee.
