Frank Salvatore DeFrancesco, 79, born June 14, 1932 in Brooklyn New York, passed away at Spring Hill Regional Hospital, in Spring Hill Florida after a long illness on April 21, 2012. Frank was surrounded by his family when he peacefully passed. As a Brooklyn native, Frank grew up in the family business, that being in the the garment district. Frank attended Central High School of Needle Trades. When asked if he met any famous people, Frank would reply he had met some famous people and some "interesting" people too. He would always smile coyly when he answered that question. Frank then enlisted in the newly formed United States Air Force and was deployed to Korea during the Korean war. Frank hardly ever spoke of his time in the war, but he had mentioned that he was part of a bomber squadron. After the war, Frank returned home and enrolled at the RCA Institute to learn all he could about electronics. He also became very active in theater. This is where he met the love of his life, his wife, Wahnita. They were both in the play "The Pajama Game", he dropped his pants and she gave him a shot. and the rest has become history. Frank and Wahnita went on to have 4 children, Frank, Wahnita Jean, Michael and Kim. It is because of his family that Frank was heavily involved with The Boy Scouts of America, little league football and baseball, cheer leading, dance, singing, whatever the children were involved with, so was Frank. He loved to tinker with things and you might call him the Jack of all trades and the Master of none. There are a few of us out there that can remember when he fixed a car sometimes you had to turn on the radio to turn off the car. Maybe he just wanted us to have a little song in our hearts all the time. Frank had a wonderful way of waking all the children for school or on camping trips, even with the Boy Scouts and that was to sing, "So, Rise and Shine and Give God Your Glory, Glory", for some of us, we will never be able to hear that song again without thinking of him. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wahnita DeFrancessco, son Frank W. DeFrancesco and his wife Gerrie, daughter Wahnita Jean Dow, son Michael DeFrancesco, daughter Kim Emerick and her husband Redman, his grandchildren Bobby Cook and his wife Krissie, April Crisci and her husband Fred, Anthony DeFrancesco and his wife Jinin, Josh Whitehead and his wife Ashley, Tim Dow, Jennifer DeFrancesco, Dominique Dow, Steven DeFrancesco, Jeffrey Dow and Nicholas Dow, and Great-grand children, Emma, Anna, Elisa, Corey, Christian Ava, Jayden and Dominick.
