A graveside funeral service will be held in the West Side District Cemetery for lifelong Taft resident, Lucille Marie Horton, 85. The pastor of Cuyama Assembly of God, will officiate. Mrs. Horton was born in Taft on September 15, 1926 and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on April 18, 2012. She graduated from Taft Union High School in 1944. Through the years she has enjoyed bowling, for which she has won many trophies, and because of her love of flowers, has also enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Smith; her mother, Agnes Wasson; and her first husband, Max Terhune. Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband, her daughter and her husband, and her grandson. Visitation will be at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
