Staff Sergeant Horton, son of Timothy Horton and Gretchen Miller, was killed near al-Iskandariyah when a roadside bomb exploded. He was part of the Army's 1st Armored Division assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christie Schock Horton, and a brother. He was 24 years old.
