Marvin Salisbury, 73, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Point Marion Personal Care Home.Marvin was born in Morgantown on January 5, 1939, the son of the late Lawrence Salisbury and Edith (Miller) Salisbury.He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Marvin was a miner for the Humphrey Coal Company and retired after 21 years of service. He was a member of the U.M.W.A where he held offices throughout the years. He was the financial secretary for the Local Union #1058.He is survived by his wife of 45years, Beatrice White Salisbury, two sons, Kevin L. Salisbury and Keith M. Salisbury, both of Morgantown two step-sons, John Robert Goff of Pique, OH Mark W Goff of Morgantown three step-daughters, Cherry Sprague and husband Bruce of Princeton, NJ Luria Sue Hamilton and husband Charles of Parkersburg, WV Vicki Jo Phillips and husband Jeff of Savage, MN one brother, Richard Salisbury and wife Evelyn of Morgantown two sisters, Marge Templeton of Morgantown and Jeanette Cole of Tunnelton, WV and sister-in-law Sally Salisbury of Euclid, OH fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Salisbury.Family and friends weree received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Sunday, February 5, from 1-4p.m. Visitation continued on Monday, February 6 from 9:30a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30a.m.with Rev. Tim W. Halloran officiating. Burial followed in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover. Full Military Honors were accorded by members of Morgantown VFW Post 548, and members of the WVARNG Honor Guard of Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV.
