Tanise is the daughter of John and Estelle Cheek. She was married to Dr. Robert E Blais in 1961. They had two Sons; Robert and Brad. The marriage legally ended on February 13, 1974 in Miami-Dade, Florida. She remarried on on June 17, 1976 in Miami-Dade, Florida.
She was an English major and majorette at at Florida State University. She became a high school PE Teacher at Killian Sunset High Schools. She enjoyed aerobics, gardening, teaching and having fun at the beach. All were strengths for her. She especially enjoyed aerobics.
