She was born July 6, 1922, in Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Herve' and Clotilde (Chenier) Dore and had lived in the area since 1948, coming from Cleveland. She was married to Robert M. Nelson on May 22, 1948, in Cleveland, at the Enunciation Church.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish Mt. Carmel Church. Mrs. Nelson enjoyed knitting, golf and making special cards for her friends.
Survivors include a son, Victor P. (Margaret) Nelson of Auburn, Ala.; two grandchildren, Meredith E. (Johnathan Watson) Nelson of Lexington, Ky. and Gregory C. (Alice) Nelson of Auburn, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Davis, Owen and Liam; a sister, Rita Nichols of Middlefield; and a special niece and caretaker, Wendy Kortyta of Conneaut.
Her parents; her husband, Robert; and a daughter, Therese Nelson all preceded her in death.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, April 2nd, at Our Lady of Peace Parish Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.
