Born in Chariton, Iowa, Mr. Ensign married the former Hazel Essler in Davenport in 1909. She died in 1920. He later married the former Mamie Grapengeter here in 1939. He had been employed by the Kohrs Cold torage Co., until his retirement in 1950.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Robert, Harry and Charles Grapengeter, all of Davenport, and Thomas, of St. Louis, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Marie McGraw, Mrs. George Colvin, Mrs. Raymond Meade, all of Davenport and Miss Mary Grapengeter, at home; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
