June was born in Battle Creek Mi in June 1903. Tradition places her birth date as June 8th however, a journal written by her Mother in before 1909 lists her birth as June 11th. June grew up in Battle Creek, her father William Darby died in 1909 leaving four children and his wife,Grace M.(Barker).June graduated from Battle Creek Central High and Battle Creek College. She attended Albion College where she met her husband "Jack" Ira Frost. June worked as a dietitian at the Battle Creek Sanitorium and at Foote Hospital in Jackson Mi. In 1926 she married Jack on Christmas Eve. The couple moved to Pontiac Michigan where they lived until Jack's death in 1945. June returned to Albion with her 6 year old daughter and teenage niece settling her family at 401 Fitch st in 1947. By 1953 she had completed a B.A. at Albion College, graduating with a teaching degree on her 50th birthday.
