Legislator's Mother Dies. Frankfort, Ky., April 2.
Mrs. Tabitha L. Anderson, mother of Charles W. Anderson,, Jr., attorney and State Representative, died on March 25, at the Winnie A. Scott Hospital at Frankfort, Ky. Mrs. Anderson had been in declining health for the past several years. She was a native of Missouri and moved to Louisville, Ky, in her early youth where she attended Simmons University and later Hampton Institute, Hampton, Virginia. She taught schools in various places in Kentucky for approximately 50 years and was the first State Supervisor of Negro schools in Kentucky. Later, she served as matron at the old Kentucky State Normal School at Frankfort, Kentucky. Mrs. Anderson was long active in civic work and devoted much time to the organization of various clubs throughout the state. She was co-founder of the Kentucky Federation of Colored Women's Clubs.
Mrs. Anderson was wife to the late Dr. Charles W. Anderson, who resided in Frankfort until his death several years ago. Funeral services were held Friday, March 27, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Frankfort, Ky.
