Clifford Wallace Anderson, who gives DOB as 3/19/1848 in Savannah, has a CSA pension application on line in the GA archives virtual vault.
He says he served in Company G of the 5th GA Cavalry. He was the Aide de Camp to Gen Robert Anderson and was selected to carry the cartel surrender between Gen. Johnston and General Sherman in April 1865. His unit surrendered near Hillsboro, N.C.
