Born Oct. 7, 1940 in Castle Dale to Leland J. and Ruth A. Huntsman. He was the oldest of five children.
Dan grew up in Castle Dale and graduated from South Emery High School. He married his childhood sweetheart, Karen Kofford, on June 27, 1958. Solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 21, 1964.
He worked for Monroe Calculator Inc. for 16 years. Then worked for Savage Brothers Industries for 29 years.
He was the president of the Cedar City Jaycees. He served in the LDS Church as a secretary in the elders quorum and as stake clerk in Castle Dale for nine years.
He loved his family, four-wheeling, camping, computers, Christmas lights in SLC, family reunions, and swinging on the porch. He had a great appreciation and love for the outdoors.
Dan leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Karen; mother, Ruth; children, Clyde (Kimberly Jo), of Castle Dale; Laren (Lanell), of Castle Dale; Kimberly (Doug) Snow, of Providence; Darrell (Lisa), of Mason, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Ramona Kaehl, Ronald, Irene Fossat and Calvin. He was preceded in death by father, Leland.
Services were Monday, March 14, 11 a.m., at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center. Burial, Castle Dale Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
