COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Lula Marion Allen, 88, of Livingston and formerly of Chattanooga, were held today, Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 11 a.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Burial was in Echols Cemetery in Rickman.

Mrs. Allen died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Bethesda Health Care Center.

She was born May 12, 1919, in Montevallo, Ala., to the late Jamed Alfred and Susie Moody Cunningham.

Mrs. Allen was a lifetime member of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga for 75 years.

She taught Sunday school to the children there for more than 30 years and spent her retirement years quilting, cooking and doing needlepoint.

She was a dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jack Mills of Cookeville and Shirley and Ted Webb of Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Anna Allen of Chattanooga; three granddaughters, Michele Migliore Smith and fiance Don Brown of Cookeville, Angela Adkins and husband Rick of Cookeville and Stacy Constantine and husband Andy of Acworth, Ga.; two grandsons, Forrest Mills of Atlanta, Ga., and David Allen and wife Amy of Hilton Head, S.C.; seven nieces and their husbands; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Allen; a brother, Kenneth Cunningham; and two sisters, Louis Worthy and Susie Davis.

Pallbearers were Andy Constantine, Wade, Wesley and Rick Adkins, Don Brown, Ted Webb and Forest Mills.

Honorary pallbearers were Addison and Gabriel Mills and Hadyn Bryant.

Jack W. Mills officiated the services.
