She married Peter Fosley on April 22, 1901 in Glendive, Montana. Together they had eight children: Cecilia, Mary/Helen, Peter, Thelma Gertrude, Lillian Sarah, Earl, Lucille and Lola "Lula". The family lived in Tacoma and by 1915 were living in Ellensburg, Washington where their house was partially destroyed by fire on March 17, 1915. By 1920 they had returned to Spokane.
According to Peter's 1930 Census record they were divorced, but his death certificate lists Lillian as his spouse.
