Alma was a daughter of Frederick and Hester (Hoffner) Eveleth. She married Civil War veteran Robert Stanley Spottswood McCulloch May 28, 1872 in Aberdeen, Ohio, and they had three children, all born in Ohio: Lucia, George and Frederick. After the death of her husband, she moved to Orlando, Florida with her children where she ran a boarding house. In 1910 she was a dressmaker. She remained in Orlando from October 20, 1882, until she died, although her Widow's Pension Claim, dated May 8, 1912, mentions that she owned 40 acres of wild land near Oviedo, Florida.
