Married Bethia Leonora Dotey, daughter of Calvin Bradford Doty and Lucinda Carr. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA and died in Detroit on 5 July 1880. She was the mother of Bradford Dotey Johnson and Mary Leonora Johnson. (Per Doty-Doten Family in America, by Ethan Allen Doty, Brooklyn, NY 1897, p 823)

Buried next to his wife, Alice Parker Johnson, whom he married in Detroit, Michigan on 17 Nov. 1881.
