A memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Los Osos. The Rev. Albert Myers officiated.
Mr. Aanerud was born Nov. 8, 1928, in VanHook, N.D. He attended high school and Business Tech College in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. Mr. Aanerud married Patricia Callahan in 1949 in Albert Lea, Minn. and had seven children. In 1963 he moved to San Luis Obispo, where he attended Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Los Osos. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the local Moose Lodge. For over 30 years he worked in San Luis Obispo as a property manager/accountant. He enjoyed horseback riding, playing tennis and horseshoes, canoeing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Aanerud is survived by his wife, Patricia of Los Osos; sons, Curtis and Perry of San Luis Obispo, Rodney of Los Osos, and Stephen and Ross of Fort Meyers, Fla.; daughter Jeanne of Renton, Wash.; three brothers; one sister; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig, and two brothers.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
