Researching: Notes from William and Albert Babcock to James N. Arnold in 1881 indicate he is the son of John Babcock and Sarah (Watson) Babcock, of Newport. They were married in 1800 and were divorced in 1808, according to state court records. Sarah Watson was the daughter of Perry Watson, of Richmond, R.I.
