When she was four years of age her parents, Richard and Honora Cruise, poineers of the Monrovia, KS area, moved to the Arrington, KS. She was educated at the Coal Creek school. She married Jacob W. Eckert, Sr. on October 1, 1894. The couple went to housekeeping on the Eckert homestead near Arrington, KS where they lived most of their lives. She bore eleven children. The childrens' names: Jacob, Jr.; Arthur; Mabel Mary; Herman; Otis W.; Andrew; Louise; Nora; Glen; Helen; and Marceline.
Honora helped out as a practical nurse and was willing to help assist neighbors or relatives in times of illness. Honora was 61 years old when she died.
