George was the son of Knute and Ruby (Warriner) Krohn. He married Violet Mae Struve in Pender, NE. They had 5 children: Jeanette, Ruby, John, James, and Kristin.
After Violet's death, George married Dorothy (Jacques) Weatherly in 1985.

George W. Krohn, 92, of Storm Lake, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Funeral services for Mr. Krohn were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

George was born March 4, 1916, in rural Webb to Knute and Ruby (Warriner) Krohn. He was baptized as an infant in the United Methodist Church in Webb and confirmed his faith as a youth in the same church. He received his education in the Garfield Consolidated School located in Garfield Township just east of Webb. He graduated from Garfield Consolidated High School in 1933.
On Nov. 29, 1941, George was united in marriage to Violet Mae Struve in Pender, Neb. The couple was blessed with five children: Jeanette, Ruby, John, James and Kristin. George married Dorothy Weatherly in 1985.
George was a farmer for much of his life, but he also worked as a custodian at Buena Vista College in his later years until he retired in 1990. He was a faithful and active member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, where he served on the Board of Trustees.
As a child, George enjoyed his membership in 4-H, and as an adult, he was a 4-H leader in Peterson, Iowa. At the time he lived in Sioux Rapids, he served his community as the chief of the rural volunteer fire department for five years. George was a fan of almost all sports, and he coached Little League for several years. He attended local sporting events regularly, but was a lifelong, avid backer of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. In 1926, he rode a horse to a location two miles away so he could listen to the Cards play the New York Yankees in the World Series championship game. He was also a fan of BVU sports.
Despite the many hours George spent earning a living and serving his community, his family was always first in his heart. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
