Flight attendant aboard Pan Am Flight 103 from London to New York. All 259 people on board were lost as well as 11 people on the ground when a terrorist bombing brought the plane down over Lockerbie Scotland. Monuments to the victims have been erected in different parts of the world, including a memorial Scottish cairn at Arlington National Cemetery dedicated by President Clinton in 1995. In April 2003, the government of Libya agreed to pay more than 3 billion dollars to victims' families after accepting "civil responsibility" for the attack.
