In 1928, Mother Harvey was wed to the late James L. Copeland. To their union two children were born. One child, Franklin J. Harvey, preceded her in death.
Mother Harvey came to Buffalo in 1933. She did catering for many years.
After the demise of her first husband, she wed the late Franklin D. Harvey.
Mother Harvey joined St. John Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Burnie C. McCarley in 1947. Until her health failed, she was very active in the Sunday School, Nurses Guild and Missionary Society. She was ordained a minister in the '70s by Rev. Bennett W. Smith, Sr.
She leaves to mourn her homegoing: a devoted daughter, Ruthie M. Edwards; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Connie Harvey; a host of other relatives and friends.
