Russell Austin Edwards, 91, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away from natural causes on June 28th in Nampa, Idaho.

Russell was born on November 25th, 1919 to Austin and Ethel (Hoberg) Edwards in Gage, Oklahoma. He was educated at Gage public schools and attended college in Stillwater. In 1939, his parents purchased a farm near Caldwell, Idaho. In the moving process, they had to ship their cattle and machinery by rail and Russell was elected to make the trip out to Idaho in a cattle car to tend the livestock during the journey.

He met Beth Anderson on a Halloween night and were later married on August 31st, 1941. This August would have been his and Beth's 70th wedding anniversary.

Russell was a farmer and a cattleman all of his life. He truly loved working the land and enjoyed the rewards that came from hard work. Russell was also an avid sports fan, and after his retirement, he cherished the opportunity to watch any sporting event on TV that he could. His favorite sport was football and he loved to watch the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Boise State Broncos and every other team that was playing television at the moment.

If Russell ever had a bad day in his life, then no one ever new about it. He always had a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Russell was a very kindhearted man who would give someone else his last dime or the shirt off his back to help them out. He greeted everyone who walked in the door with a smile, and a warm handshake. He was a genuine and truly good man - the kind of man that would make you proud to say that you knew him.

Russell is survived by his wife, Beth; his children, Dennis (Marilyn) Edwards, of Nampa, and Sherri (Greeley) Price, of Boise; grandchildren, Corey (Lori) Edwards, of Meridian, Wade Winters, of Caldwell, Darci (Brad) Goff, of Caldwell; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Raymond) Nau, of Star, and Anna Carol Upson, of Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jim Upson.
