Brigadier General Noble O. Moore is one of only two Generals buried in Riverside Cemetery, the other being General William Henry Harrison Beadle. General Moore was a commanding officer in the Michigan National Guard during the Detroit race riots in 1967. He served as Brigadier-General in the Michigan National Guard from 1959 until his retirement in 1967, with a total of 31 years with the Guard. General Moore was a veteran of World War II, and saw action in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany He earned a bronze star with 5 battle stars. Moore was an attorney by profession, and served as Calhoun County Prosecutor, and president of the Calhoun County Bar Association.
