Born to Marjorie Gardner Wood and Frank M. Wood Sr., and raised in Redding, CA. A veteran of the U.S. Army (82nd Airborne). Brother to Valerie Wood Williams (who preceeded him in death), John Wood, and Ross Wood. Father of Amanda Wood Lampert and Frank M. Wood III. Life long partner to Betty Henderson. Grandfather of two and resident of Reno, NV since 1990.
Final services were held on August 5th, 2011 at 1100 hours. He received military honors consisting of taps, a two person flag fold by the US Army and a bag pipe player. In attendance were his children, Amanda and Frank Jr., his grand children Erin and Gabriel, his son-in-law Daniel, his brother Ross, his cousin Richard Nolen. His nieces Francine and Angeline, and his nephews Ross Jr. and Rory, Ernie, and Luke. Additionally, his cousins Darlene and Dion were in attendance along with his aunt Marjean.

Frank M. Wood, 70, of Reno, Nevada, passed away at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Reno on October 31, 2010.
He was born on February 9, 1940, in Redding, CA, to Marjorie and Frank M. Wood Sr. An Army Veteran, he served in the US Army 82nd Airborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Valerie Williams. He is survived by his life partner, Betty Henderson; son, Frank M. Wood III; daughter, Amanda Lampert (Daniel); brothers, Ross Wood (Pham) and John Wood; and two grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1000 Locust Street, Reno, NV 89502. Interment will be at a later date at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in his memory to the AMVETS.
