Lucy Dougherty Weaver Cunningham, born November 21, 1898 in Pauls Valley, Indian Territory, moved with her family to Oklahoma City in 1902. Her father, Claude Weaver, established a law office in Oklahoma City. She was a life-long member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She married Morrison B. Cunningham February 17, 1918. He was a prominent Oklahoma City engineer, and preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Oklahoma High School in 1916, attended Oklahoma Normal College. A well known authority on antique dolls, her collection was known throughout the southwest. A member of the United Federation of Doll Collectors, charter member and founder of Doll Collectors of Oklahoma.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Claude Weaver Jr., sisters, Mrs. Floy Barrier, Mrs. Barbara James and Mrs. Amy Capshaw. Survived by a son, Jacques Cunningham of Tulsa; daughters, Mrs. Mary Andrews and Mrs. Jack (Lucy) Glasgow, both of Oklahoma City; sister, Mrs. Julio Zumeta, Jr. of New York, New York; grandchildren, John Marion Baker, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Bob Shipman of Bakersfield , California, Mr. Jacques Harrell Cunningham of Tulsa, Mrs. Wayne Tucker, Mize, Mississippi, Mrs. Mark Douglas of Ardmore, Mrs. Charles Flint III of Tulsa; great grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Stephanie Baker of Oklahoma City, Andrew Tucker of Mize, Mississippi, Lori and Craig Shipman of Bakersfield, California, Pat and David Cunningham of Tulsa; niece, Mrs. Amelia Ries of Ft. Worth, Mrs. Marion Higbee of Tulsa, and Mrs. Tommy Calvin. Graveside service 1pm Thursday, Rose Hill Cemetery. Bill Merritt Bethany.
