Owen Augustus Chase, 72, Somerville of Sand Hill Road, died May 8, 1991, at the West Roxbury, Mass., Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Somerville May 2, 1919, the son of Charles and Bernice (Grotton) Chase. A lifelong resident of Somerville, he attended schools there and married Anne Esther Peaslee Mr. Chase was a carpenter for the State Highway Commission motor transport division for 15 years He then was a television repairman for many years until he retired. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr Chase was a past member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of Somerville, five sons, Dana L Chase of Augusta, and Dennis R Chase, David E Chase, Don B Chase and Delbert O Chase, all of Somerville, two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Diane) Chase of Weeks Mills and Mrs James (Darlene) Leigh of Jefferson, four brothers, Victor Chase of Waldoboro, Fostess Taylor of Gardiner, Orrison Taylor of Chelsea and Delmar Taylor of Windsor, six sisters, Halycon Bowden, Althea Dali and Faustina Morse, all of Chelsea, Maxine Felcher of South China, and Ruby Hawes and Christine Sanford, both of Augusta, seven grandchildren, and several nieces, nephew s and cousins A funeral service was held May 11 at the Gray & Pratt Funeral Home, Windsor Memorial contributions may be made to the Owen Chase Memorial Fund.
