Taken from the November 21, 1917 issue of the Owen Leader:

Genevieve R. wells was born at Patricksburg, Ind. May 24, 1910. Departed this life at Staunton, Ind., Nov. 11, 1917, aged 7 years, 5 months, 17 days. Genevieve has gone to join her mother, who crossed the river Sept. 26th last. She leaves to mourn their loss a kind father, four sisters and three brothers. They are Mrs. Ethel Megenhardt of Staunton, Floyd, Warren, Altha, Geneva her twin, Marie and Harley. All her grandparents still survive and other relatives.

Genevieve has suffered much pain but always bore it patiently. Through all her pain she at times would smile a smile of heavenly birth, and when angels called her home, she smiled farwell to earth. Heaven retaineth now our treasure, earth the lonely casket keeps, and the sunbeams love to linger where our sainted daughter sleeps.
