Newspaper article 1:

"David H. Andrews (1868 - 1941) has sold his farm of 90 acres two miles southwest of Caro at $133.33 an acre to Charles Lappis of Gibson, Illinois. This is one of the ever increasing prices paid for land in Tuscola County and is a notable event in the county's real estate transactions for the year. The deal was not absolutely completed Thursday but practically every arrangement had been made.

Mr. Andrews plans to move to Caro with his family. He has two children going to school here, a daughter Ethel, in the high school and a son, Fred, in the grammar school.

Mr. Andrews was born and raised in this county. He bought the 90 acres he has just sold 18 years ago. Since that time he has devoted himself to working it until now he is ready to retire to life in the city where he can send his children to school right where he lives".

Newspaper article 2:

"The Andrews farm, that sold for such a long price last week, and the news of which was received too late for publication, has been in the family over sixty years. The ninety acres sold by D. H. Andrews to Chas. Lappin of Gibson City, Illinois, for $12,000, was part of the half section given his grandfather, Amos Andrews, for his services in the War of 1812, when he fought under Perry.

The family came to Indianfields township from Geauga County, Ohio, in 1853. After his death the farm was divided between his sons, David H. and Amos Andrews. On the death of the former, eighteen years ago, the homestead was left to his nephew and namesake, David H. Jr., who has proven an up-to-date agriculturist and the farm is in a splendid state of fertility and worthy of the banner price for any farm ever sold in Indianfields township. The place is known as "Sunny Side" and although part of the house was built over a half century ago, it has been kept up and is a spacious and comfortable home. He has a fine family, two daughters and two sons. One daughter is attending high school.

Amos Andrews, senior, retired several years ago but retired on the farm that had been his home for sixty-one years, surrounded by all the comforts of a beautiful country home which he had carved from the virgin forest.

He is spending life's afternoon with his companion, formerly Jane Sutton, whom he married fifty-six years ago. Their daughter, Mrs. Leonard Hazard, and husband, reside with them and their son, Amos H., Jr., lives near on another part of the original homestead. Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, Sr. drove to Caro Monday afternoon. They are certainly a handsome old couple, who their many friends hope will live to celebrate their diamond anniversary."
