Clara A. (Kobylarz) Budrejko, 89, of Newington died peacefully Monday, March 21, 2011, with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J. Budrejko.

Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Grohala) Kobylarz, she resided in New Britain, moving to Newington in 1947.

A woman of strong Catholic faith, Clara was a member of St. Mary's Church and its Ladies Guild. She formerly led the religious education program for several years and was active in the prayer group formerly called the Children of Light Community.

She also enjoyed spending many summers in Townsend, Vt
A dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves her son CDR Donald Budrejko, USN Ret., and his wife, Mary Lou of Reston, Va.; her daughter, Gail A. Budrejko of Newington; her four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves her two brothers, Joseph Kobylarz and his wife, Ann, of Inverness, Fla., and Henry Kobylarz and his wife, Greta, of Kensington, and many nieces and nephews, including her devoted nephew, John Norman Hahn of Meriden.

Clara always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. A much-loved friend and neighbor, she will be missed by all who knew her.

Clara's funeral service will begin Friday at 9 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery following the Mass. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
