Elizabeth Payson Snow, the daughter of Tileston Snow and Nancy (Heath) Snow, was born in Atkinson, Piscataquis Co., Maine 15 March 1817. She married Dana R. Hamlet 18 Jun 1839 in Brownville, Piscataquis Co., Maine, and they moved to Lily Pond about 1856, along with Elizabeth's parents. (Tileston and Nancy Snow are buried in Big Lake Cemetery, as is her brother, Benjamin Flavel Snow, and his wife, Ruth D. [Harris] Snow.) Dana and Elizabeth Hamlet were the parents of Ann Elizabeth, Helen Amanda, Clarence A. (buried here), Elmer Adam, and Milton Tileston (buried here with wife, Emma Lucy [Perry] Hamlet, and son, Guy Milton Hamlet). Daughter Helen Amanda died at Otsego 20 Oct 1858 at age 15; since the cemetery opened in 1854, she may also be buried here, although there is no record. Elizabeth died 21 April 1908 in Lily Pond. An interesting side note: Elizabeth Snow and her sister, Charlotte M. Snow, married brothers. Charlotte Snow's husband was Joseph Bradley Hamlet. Most, if not all, of the early Hamlets in Wright and Sherburne Counties descend from these two couples.
