Sikes' Ferry News

With sorrowful regret we chronicle the death of Mrs. Rachel Martin which occurred at her home near Sike's Ferry at 2 o-clock, a.m. on the 1st of Sept. The deceased was born in Independence county, Ark., in 1836. She joined the Protestant Methodist church in 1887 and lived a devoted Christian up to the time of her death. She leaves two single daughters, Messes Maud and Pearl Martin. and several married sons and daughters to mourn her death.

Hard it is from thee to part,
Since you rend my aching heart,
Since you are to glory gone,
Let the will of God be done.
