US Congressman. He graduated from the Staunton Military Academy (1900-04), the George Washington University, (1905-08), graduated from National University Law School in 1910 and was admitted to the bar. During World War I, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After the war he practiced law, served as assistant to the Secretary of the Interior, (1915-17), was executive of an oil marketing company, (1919-37) and became publisher of the Kansas Independence Daily Reporter, in 1940. In 1947, he was elected as a Republican to the Eightieth Congress and Eighty-first Congresses, serving until his death.
