After leaving the U.S. Navy he returned to St. Paul, MN where he met and married Margaret Julia (Boyd.) He worked a series of jobs/occupations the most significant being an aircraft assembly line/assembler (McDonnell Douglas, Long Beach, CA.), bus driver with Twin Cities Rapid Transit (TCRT) in St. Paul, MN., US Postal worker St. Paul Post Office, and then a security guard with San Diego Gas & Electric Co. from where at age 65 he retired. Once retired he then got involved with former WWII reunions through the Escort Carrier Sailors and Airmen Association (ECSAA). He passed away peacefully after 4 year residence at Chase Care Center El Cajon, CA. at 83 years of age. Two daughters; Victoria Kay and Roxanne Louise, eldest son and two room mates were at his bedside at the time of his death of complications from Parkinson's disease on Saturday 5:05 PM July 24,2010 at the Chase Care Center, 1201 Orange Ave. So. Rm 219B in El Cajon, CA.
