Shelby Alexander, 83, a resident of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1927 to Clarence H. Alexander and Katy L. Jones in Camden Mississippi. He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice J. Alexander of the family home; six sons, Shelby L. Alexander and wife Gail of Grants, NM; Joseph I. Alexander and wife Elizabeth of Cold Springs, NM; John S. Alexander and wife Patricia of Hurley; James E. Alexander and wife Dianna of Salisbury, NC; Robert W. Alexander of Las Cruces; David W. Alexander and wife Patricia of Aztec, NM; one daughter, Margaret Ann Alexander Necessary and husband Stephen of Corpus Christi, TX; two sisters, Edna Earl Hill of Canton, MS; Annie Kay Broome of Ridgeland, MS; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, January 18th at 11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Pastor Robert Ihlefeld officiating. The interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shelby, Joseph, John, James, Robert and David Alexander. Honorary pallbearer will be Stephen Necessary.
