Cherica Jeanine Brown was born in Norfolk April 9, 1980, and was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk. Toureh A. Hines, her ex-boyfriend killed Brown shortly after she made a frantic 911 call around 7:30 a.m. on March 21. When police arrived minutes later, Brown and her assailant were dead.
Cherica, fondly known as Jeanine, attended Old Dominion University where she majored in theater education and participated in drama and performed in several plays.
An aspiring actress and model, Brown also had a role in an upcoming film from Tim Reid's New Millennium Studios "For Real".
Brown leaves behind a large family including her parents, stepmother, three brothers, grandparents, six aunts and five uncles. Brown also is survived by her daughter, Jeanae, who had not yet turned a year old at the time of her death
