Frances Mahoney Chittum, died in Richmond, VA November 1, 2002. Formerly from Lexington, VA she had been a resident of the Eastern Star Home in Richmond for the past 13 years. She was born on August 4, 1916 in Toccoa, Ga. and was the wife of the late Herbert B. Chittum, Sr.

She was a member of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church and was retired from Hamric & Sheridan Jewelry.

She is survived by one son, Herbert B. Chittum, Jr. and his wife Nancy, of Mechanicsville, VA; one daughter, Nancy C. Lucas and her husband Howard, of Lynchburg, VA; five grandchildren, Greg and Garrett Chittum, of Mechanicsville, VA, Howard (Chappy) Lucas of Houston, TX, Patty L. McKenney, of Richmond, Catherine S. Lucas, of Chesapeake, VA; and four great-grandchildren; one brother, J. H. Mahoney and his wife Dot, of Martinsville, VA; and one sister-in-law, Lovie Mahoney, of Lexington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Eastern Star Home of VA, 3000 Chamberlain Ave., Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
