She had lived in Harrisonburg since 1921. Her husband, Arthur H.Chittum a well known stockdealer, died June 29, 1961.
She was a member of the Harrisonburg EUB Church.
Mrs. Chittum is survived by five children: Mrs. Lester A. Hoover, Herbert Lee Chittum and Mrs. Clara Simpson. all of Harrisonburg, A. Boyd Chittum of Elizabethtown, PA. and Mrs. Omer Ruddle of Rt. 4 Harrisonburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Will Smiley of Mt. Crawford, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by her pastor, the Rev. Paul Bailey and Dr. E. E. Miller. Burial will be in Mt. Crawford cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:30 until 8:30 pm. Friday. Relatives will meet at the Chittum home at 3:10, Saturday.
