Mr. Stuart Alexander Chittum, Route 1, Fairfield, died at his home April 14, 1958 at 5:00 a.m. He was born in Rockbridge County, October 20, 1885, a son of the late Jane Topping Chittum and William J. Chittum and lived his lifetime in this county.
Mr. Chittum was a member of the Fairfield Methodist Church and a farmer by trade.
Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Maude Agnes Weeks, Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Burwell, Beaver, PA and Mrs. Faye Webb, Hyattsville, MD, three sons, Edwin W. Chittum, Portsmouth; William B. Chittum, Lexington and Paul W. Chittum, Fairfield. Also surviving are two brothers, Roy Chittum and Elmer W. Chittum, both of Fairfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Fairfield Methodist church this afternoon at 3:15 p.m. by Rev. S. W. T. Hedrick with interment in the Fairfield cemetery.
