Lois Jane Bearden, 82, a longtime resident of Helena, Arkansas, died on Sunday, September 24, 2006 in Alexander City, Alabama. Graveside services will be held on September 30, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.



Mrs. Bearden was born November 5, 1923 in Memphis, TN, to Thomas Patrick and Marguerite Shea.



Her education in dance and artistry began in early childhood and continued throughout her life. She performed with Earl Carrol Vanities in the 1940's and was a prolific songwriter. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Guild of Variety Artists and the American Society of Composers, Artists and Publishers. She was a longtime member of Saint John's Episcopal Church in Helena, AR. She was a strong supporter of disabled Veterans.



Mrs. Bearden was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gene Bearden, and her son, John Shea Bearden.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gene and Rick Borowski of Alexander City, AL; grandson, Johnathan Wade Urschel (Danielle) of Memphis, TN; sister, Marguerite Shea Catanese of Chicago, IL; and nephew, Patrick Catanese.



Funeral arrangements will be handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
