Wyandotte, OK-Alyssa Avila charmed everyone she knew during her short life, a family member said Saturday. The 9-year-old died Thursday after falling from a piece of teeter-totter-like playground equipment at the Wyandotte Elementary School playground. Funeral services have not been finalized.

Alyssa Faye Avila, 9, Wyandotte, OK passed away at 3:55 PM, August 19, 2010 at Miami Integris Baptist Hospital in Miami, OK from injuries sustained in a playground equipment accident. Alyssa Faye Avila was born December 27, 2000 in Modesto, CA the daughter of Ron Avila and Cathy (Campbell) Collins. She was a student of Wyandotte Elementary School and was loved by all who met her. Alyssa is survived by her father Ron Avila, CA; her mother Cathy Collins and step-father Kenneth Blair, Wyandotte; her sisters, Jennifer Avila, and Michelle Avila both of Atwater, CA, Kimberly Avila, Delhi, CA , Shawna Collins, Turlock, CA and Kaylee Collins, Wyandotte; her brother, Joshua Collins, Tokyo, Japan; step-brothers, Kenny Blair Jr., Shon Blair and Brent Blair all of California; maternal grand-parents, Buddy and Barbara Campbell, Wyandotte; maternal great-grandmother, Louise Lee, Wyandotte; paternal grandmother, Juanita Avila and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Alyssa was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Dave and Birdie Campbell and Sherman Cole; and paternal grandfather Stanley Avila. Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 9:00 AM, August 25, 2010 at the Wyandotte High School Gymnasium with Matt Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery with Billy Cole, Bobby Cole, Josh Collins and Ryan Nunes, serving as pallbearers. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca. A memorial fund for Alyssa has been set up at the Bank of Wyandotte to help with expenses.
