Helen Blake Swearingen Cain was born August 30, 1909 in Edith, Clinch County, Georgia, to E. A. Swearingen and Lula Cain Swearingen.

She married Lloyd LaVerne Cain, a son of James Francis Cain and Margaret Harrison "Hattie" Lyle Cain on December 24, 1932 in Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Helen Swearingen Cain, 84, of Hanceville Nursing Home will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Clint Busler officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cain died Sunday at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 30, 1909 in Georgia.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle, a graduate of Athens State College and a retired teacher in the Morgan County school system. She was the widow of Lloyd L. Cain.

She is survived by three sons, John L. Cain of Hanceville, James F. Cain of Slidell, La. and Robert L. Cain of Birmingham; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Cain, Richard Cain, Billy Cain, Jim Cain, Lyle Cain and Andy Hurd.
