Son of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Clark of Meredosia and came to Sangamon county when he was 7 years old. He spent most of his life in this community.
Died as a result of injuries received when he was struck by an automobile a week prior to his death. It is said he stepped in front of the automobile while he was sweeping the walk in front of his home and was taken to St. John's hospital. His death resulted from a relapse a few days ago.
Survived by daughters Mrs. H. S. Downing of San Francisco, California, and Mrs. R. M. Hitch of Springfield with whom he made his home. - Illinois State Journal, Springfield, IL, 12-31-1922
