Eldest son of Frances Elizabeth & Benjamin H Dyer of 317 Nicholson Street, East Brunswick, Vic. He had previously served as Colour Sergeant with the 51st Infantry Brigade. He embarked with the 14th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT "Runic" (A54) on 19 February 1915. After initially being reported missing at Gallipoli, it was later confirmed that he was killed in action, aged 26 years.
