Born of American parents, Nathaniel Warner and Roxey Ingersoll Warner, she met and married a Canadian, George Nelson Morgan, on 9 December 1852 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. George N. Morgan taught music at St. Catherines, and in 1855, they moved to St. Anthony (later to become Minneapolis), Minnesota, to take advantage of the financial opportunities there. He founded a steamship (Foundry and Machinery) building company on the Great Lakes. When the Civil War began, he joined the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, and rose from Private to Colonel. His health failing, he resigned from his command of the 1st Minnesota in May 1863, and returned to Minneapolis. He was given command of Fort Snelling, Minn. where he trained troops for the Civil War, and deployed the militia to put down a Souix uprising. He died 24 July 1866, leaving Delia with 7 children to raise. She remained in Minneapolis until her death in 1918. Their children were: Louise Erecca Morgan (born 23 Aug 1853, St. Catherines, Ontario), George Horace Morgan (born 1 Jan 1855, St. Catherines, Ontario), Frank William Morgan (born 30 Oct 1856, St. Paul, MN), Frederick Nelson Morgan (born 3 July 1859, St. Anthony, MN), Della Elizabeth Morgan (born 5 Nov 1861, St. Anthony, MN), Mary Florence Morgan (8 Nov 1863, St. Anthony, MN), Alfred Sully Morgan (born 22 Aug 1865, Fort Snelling, MN). In 1879, she married William W. Woodward, a widower, and is buried with him.Wife of Brigadier General George Nelson Morgan. After his death in 1866, she married William Washburn Woodward, a widower. Her parents were Nathaniel Warner (15 Feb 1809 to August 1858) and Roxey Ingersoll (30 Nov 1808 to 25 April 1852).
