Mr. Ruddle was stricken while working Thursday afternoon and was dead on arrival at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 17. 1922 at Deer Run, W.VA and was the son of the late Scott and Maude Siple Ruddle.
He had lived in Harrisonburg since 1936 and had been employed by the Shenandoah Valley Electric Co-Op 27 years. Mr. Ruddle was a member of Harrisonburg Fire Co 1 and Fairview United Methodist Church at Deer Run.
On April 4, 1945, he married the former Edna Irene Chittum, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Linda Ridder of Harrisonburg and Terry Ruddle at home, and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:30-7:30 p.m. today.
