He was born August 11, 1949 in Warren County, the son of John Daniel and Elizabeth Mahoney Riley.
He was married to Alice Jones Riley.
Mr. Riley had been a landscaper.
Surviving are his wife; his mother; two daughters, Theresa F. Murphy of Bunker Hill, WV and Brenda Pattison of Bethlehem, PA; a son, Benny Lee Riley of Middletown; three brothers, Harrison Riley and William Riley, Sr. both of Middletown and Noah Riley of Winchester and two grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 1, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 5095 Main Street, Stephens City.
A graveside service will be Friday, July 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in Willis Chapel Cemetery, Huntly, VA with Rev. Donald Williams officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sydney Donovan, Jason Donovan, Robert Donovan and Eric Butler.
