Dr. Frederick A. Churchill and Miss Mary E. Atkins were married last Wednesday evening April 17, 1895, at the residence of the brides mother, Mrs. Mary J. Atkins, 325 Columbia street, in the presence of the immediate relatives and about seventy-five of the intimate friends of both parties. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George F. Whitworth, D.D., assisted by the Rev. Alexander Alison, D.D. The house had been beautifully decorated for the occasion, a canopy of flowers made up of apple blossoms covering the place where the union was solemnized. Pansies, orchids and cherry blossoms were banked on the mantles, while ferns, ivy and flowers and evergreen were festooned in a graceful manner about the various rooms. The charming bride, in a brocaded white satin gown, bridal veil, the whole trimmed with lilies of the valley, and carrying a bouquet of white bridal roses, came in at the appointed time on the arm of her brother, Mr. Eben Osborne, and was received by the happy groom under the canopy, where the two were soon made one by the beautiful service of the Presbyterian church. The bride was supported as bridesmaid by Miss Mary Churchill, sister of the groom, who looked the embodiment of the handsome daffodil in a rich yellow silk gown and carrying a bouquet of daffodils. The groom had for the best man Mr. Frank R. Atkins, brother of the bride, all the gentlemen being in conventional full dress suits. A wedding supper followed the ceremony and the congratulations. The relatives in attendance were Mrs. Mary J. Atkins, Miss Persis Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. Eben Osborne, Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, Miss Gertrude Moore and Miss Mary Churchill. Many handsome gifts were received by the newly married couple. Dr. and Mrs. Churchill will be at home every Wednesday after the middle of May at 608 Olympia avenue.
