He was born Aug. 24, 1915, to Levi and Nancy Duncan Sinders. On Sept. 15, 1937, he married Agnes Horton Sinders; she survives.
He was a farmer in Clay County all his working years. The family raised livestock as well as grain. He was an active member of the church, serving in many areas. Since moving into the town of Clay City, he and his wife have been avid walkers.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Shirley Sinders of Canby, Ind., and Estel and Ann Sinders, Don and Lucy Sinders and Wayne and Ruth Sinders, all of Clay City; five granddaughters and their husbands, Cynthia and Rich Wise, Nancy and Mike Ezell, Diana and Dale Marshall, Jennifer and Cliff Macke and Sharadeth Sinders; three grandsons, James Sinders and wife Elizabeth, Mark Sinders and Darin Sinders; two stepgrandchildren, Jerry Wolf and wife Vickie and Patricia Wolf; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Cox of Brazil and Fern Hawkins of Texas; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Cliff, Herman, Ray, Earl, Clee, Elmer and Gilbert Sinders; and three sisters, Ethel Craig, Edith Miller and Hazel Lowe.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Sink Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday prior to services.
