Mary Margarite (Bell) Eckles,90, of Louisville, passed away July 5, 2009, at Summerfield Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 3, 1919 in Louisville, KY.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and a Christian by faith. In previous years she had attended St. Clements, but was a member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Joe F. Eckles; and a brother, Gus Bell.
She is survived by her children, Alma Jane Senn (Raymond R.), Connie J. Eckles (Deb); grandchildren, Evie Senn, Dwayne (Tonja) Senn, Kevin Senn, Valina Higgins (Tom), Emily Byrnes (Matt), Kendall Rutledge (Terry); brother, Jack Bell; sisters, Hallie DeVuono (Lou), Blanche Sagraves (Doug); great-grandchildren, Bailey, Abby, Caryn, Natalie, Katie, Lauren, Seth, Abby, Alexander; and great-great-granddaughter Cailyn.
Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the funeral home. Note: She was the sister of David Russell "Gus" Bell, the baseball pro.
